I noticed the shadow from the bridge to the bay below and stopped to photograph this scene as a boat emerged from under the bridge

I decided to add another dimension to the process and bring the readers of the blog as well as fans on Facebook into the project and have them vote for their favorite three images during the month of December

In the fall of 2009

I looked across the Gastineau Channel and noticed the low clouds on Douglas Island with the fresh snow from some rain which had fallen earlier in the day on the peaks

Evening in Juneau with a Full Moon Size:8"x10" I noticed the shadow fromIf you have been to Juneau at all you know that it rains in this area of Alaska, yes it is a rainforest. So on an evening where there were clear skies I headed out to photograph, and on this evening I ran into the full moon rising over the mountains. I quickly looked for a foreground element to add for this image and found a pair of floatplanes out at the Juneau International Airport to help frame the image on this September evening.
